Mission Statement
The Black Advocacy Team’s mission is to uplift and inspire joy in all Black students in the dance department, by cultivating safe spaces for them to freely express themselves authentically. We aim to facilitate events that provide both a fun and educational experience that explores Black/African American history and stories. We strive to prioritize the well-being of the Black/African American individuals in our department. By holding space for uncomfortable, yet prevalent conversations that affect our community, we work to continue developing our methods for activism
